Using WooCommerce and setting your shop layouts

Longevity Pro gives you WooCommerce compatibility when you decide to setup an online storefront with your site. Although this theme is not built around WooCommerce, you can still get the foundation of a WooCommerce store up and running.

I’m going to assume you either already have WooCommerce installed or about to install it, so I will leave that out of this tutorial as their documentation is far better than what I can provide you. What I Will take you through are a couple new items added to version 1.3.2 of Longevity Pro:

  1. Custom Templates
  2. Theme Options for your store layout

Choose Your Shop Layout

WooCommerce does not use custom page templates for this, so we have to use a different method to choose our shop layout. This is the layout that displays the shop, the list of products offered.

  1. Go to Appearance >> Customize >> WooCommerce Options
  2. Find the “Shop Layout” setting and make your choices
    shop layout setting
  3. Click “Save & Publish

Choose Your Single Product Layout

Just like the shop, we cannot use a custom page template, so once again we must go to the customizer.

  1. Go to Appearance >> Customize >> WooCommerce Options
  2. Find the “Product Layout” setting and make your choice
    product layout setting
  3. Click “Save & Publish

Set the Layout of Other Shop Pages

With the remaining pages that are part of the WooCommerce storefront like “Basket“, “My Account“, etc., you can choose one of the new templates that were recently added to Longevity Pro:

  1. WooCommerce Full Width
  2. WooCommerce Left Sidebar
  3. WooCommerce Right Sidebar
