Adjust the main content top and bottom space

Not a common feature in a theme, but Prelude is the first for Shaped Pixels to let you adjust the amount of top and bottom space for your main content area. In the past, I’ve noticed that there have been several theme users wanting to change the amount of spacing at the top of their page content, so I decided to implement a new setting for this.

To give you a visual representation of where the top and bottom spacing is applied, here is a screenshot:

The green area is the padding (spacing) for your main content. However, the setting for managing this will only affect the top and the bottom, not the left and right. The default padding is 60 pixels.

  1. Go to Appearance >> Customize >> Site Options
  2. Look for the “Content Top & Bottom Space” setting

  3. The default size is 60 (60 pixels), but you can change this to suit your needs and preferences.
  4. Click “Save & Publish
