Setup your site title or logo

When you perform a clean install of this theme, your default setting is to show a Site Title in your header instead of a logo. Because of the design of this theme, it was created to use a text based title due to the limited space you have for logos (particularily large logos).

However, when it comes to adding a logo, you will need to venture into the Customizer to perform this task. Currently, you have the following options available:

  1. Site Title
  2. Logo

What you decide is going to be up to you, but I should also mention that the site description (tagline) is not available for this theme. If you decide to use a logo, I would recommend that you don’t make it too large when using the default Header One style and best to keep it around¬†65 pixels¬†in height. If you need it larger in height, you will need to adjust your menu positioning with some custom CSS. You also have the option to use the Header Three style if you have a large logo, as this will give you lots of vertical and horizontal space because everything is middle aligned.

Change the Site Title

  1. Go to Appearance >> Customize >> Site Identity
  2. In the “Site Title” field, change this to your own
    setting site title
  3. You can change the site tagline description if you wish, but this won’t show on the front-end of your site.
  4. Click “Save & Publish
  5. Site Tagline – You can also add your tagline below the site title if you wish. The tagline will show on new installs of WordPress and this theme.
  6. While you are in the “Site Branding” section, look for the “Tagline” setting and enter your own. Once done, this is what it should look like:
  7. Click “Save & Publish

Add a Logo

When you upload your own logo, make sure it’s not too big. I recommend the height does not exceed 50 pixels for the inline menu style, but it can be taller for the menu centered style for the header. If you need a larger logo, you may need to make some CSS adjustments for positioning. However, and for at least the inline menu style of header, this theme was designed to best utilize a text based title.

File format for your logo image can be either a jpg or png for best results. This is the result we will get once uploaded where our title and image is our logo:

NOTE When uploading a logo, this will automatically disable the text based site title.

  1. Go to Appearance >> Customize >> Site Identity
  2. Look for the Site Logo setting and click on the “Select Image” button to upload your logo:
    setting add logo
  3. When uploading a logo, you will see a window with the option to crop your logo image or to skip cropping; if you made your logo image to the size you want, you can click on “Skip Cropping” and bypass this step:
    crop skip cropsetting logo uploaded
  4. If you are happy, click on the “Save & Publish” button at the top of the customizer.
